Morning Light

Beyond winter’s barren branches comes the morning light

I know these photos aren’t anything especially remarkable, but there was such a gorgeous sunrise this morning, I just had to share it with you all.  Wish there had been some of that lovely frost on my windows too, as these colors would have provided a beautiful backdrop for it.  I guess -6 isn’t quite cold enough.  😉

What a lovely start to the week, hope yours starts out beautiful too… ♥

  1. Really lovely Julie! It’s been long since I’ve seen a sunrise here. Hoping it will brighten up someday soon. 🙂

  4. Lovely, as always! Negative six isn’t cold enough, ahaha! Well it was a beautiful sunrise here as well, but after being at the bus stop with the girls in the -10, I appreciated it a lot more while gazing at it through the picture window 🙂
I don’t think we’re going to get cold enough to capture ice formations anymore. I’ll need to wait until next winter.

    • Thanks Joey! Haha yeah, in these cold temps it’s definitely more appreciated from “inside.” 😉 I’ve enjoyed my lovely frosty windows (still have more photos to share), but I can’t say I’ll miss it if it means increasing temps! 😀

      • I’m happy to say a little more warmth is coming in. We’ll spend the next week in the 30’s and 40’s and I find that ever so pleasant. This winter has been a brute!

  5. I love the colors in sunrises and I like there to be some clouds because that just adds to it. The sun rises behind our house and sets in the front. I rarely notice the difference of the sunrise even though I know its there in the winter vs summer. The sunset its like its moved way over to the left from our front door in the winter time. Nice pictures.

    • I agree, it definitely adds more interest when there are clouds included in a sunrise or sunset. I’ve been noticing a gradual difference in the position of the sun recently too (of course it’s really actually the earth that is changing its position as it revolves around the sun 😉 ), little by little the sun is getting a bit higher in the sky, so happy about that as it means gradually longer days, warmer temps, and SPRING! 😀

  6. Oh, but they are especially remarkable…and beautiful, too! The pink and that little bit of golden light…gorgeous.

    • Thank you so much Loisajay! I love the colors too! It’s just that it’s not an especially inspiring scene, like as it would be maybe over water or something. 😉 I’m in the inner city so there’s not much of an open sky to view ~ always housetops in the way, and when there are leaves on the tree outside my window, I can’t see much at all except the tree. But I’m very thankful for what I can see. 😀

  7. A lovely sunrise! Those colors are certainly a welcome sight here as our skies have been very gray the past few days.
