I May Never Come Back Indoors Again

There are so many wonderful things going on outside right now, that I may never come back indoors!

Well, maybe just long enough to share a short post.  😉

I’ve been so in my element here over the past couple of weeks ~ just being able to be outdoors is such a pleasure, and to be gardening again… oh my, it’s absolute bliss to me.  It’s been a gradual process though, the weather being such a temperamental dictator, but I have to pace myself a little more these days anyways, so it all works out.  In thinking that it’s fairly safe to assume now that we’re finally done with the frost here, I went out yesterday and planted all of my vegetable seeds.  Hopefully everything I’ve planted grows up big and strong, and yummy.  I talked real sweetly to them, and prayed over them as I was putting them in, so all I can do now is wait.

I don’t really have any photos to share from all the planting I did, as I was mostly just focusing on enjoying myself in the moment, not taking pictures.  And besides, I didn’t think anyone would be real interested in just looking at dirt.

But afterwards, I did snap a picture of one of the pretty, little pink flowers that are blooming on the strawberry plants that I put into my happy, red strawberry pot…

And of the bright, colorful Gazania I planted in one of my other pots…

I also snapped a photo of a lovely pink tulip I found blooming in the flower bed…

And omygosh the crab apple tree out on our boulevard is pregnant with vibrant, colorful blossoms right now, it’s a stunning sight!  Although, I had a rather difficult time capturing a nice photo of it…

Also, the Lilacs are just about ready to bloom, as are the Lily of the Valley, and I can already smell their heavenly fragrances in the air!

So yep, outside right now it’s a literal feast for my senses.  And I intend to eat my fill of it!  😀

  4. I’ve felt the same way this week. All I want to do is garden…and sleep. Indoor duties are seriously bumming me out. 🙂 Lovely pictures! I so wish I had room for a crabapple tree. I wish you nice, warm weather for your gardening!

    • Gardening and sleeping, sounds perfect! 🙂 I know what you mean, everything needing to be done in the house gets sets aside when it’s gardening season ~ I barely even want to come in long enough to cook something to eat. The crabapple is out on the boulevard and is actually owned by the city, but it still feels like it’s ours. The view of it out my Mom’s bedroom window is breathtaking! I wish lovely weather for you too Trisha! Along with the perfect combination of gardening and relaxing naps… 😉

    • It’s so wonderful having this beautiful weather isn’t it?! We have thunderstorms in the forecast for Sunday here, but I don’t mind those one bit. As long as they’re not severe, I’m a huge fan of a good thunderstorm, great for sleeping. 🙂

  6. So glad that you are ‘out there’ Julie. After such a long winter it is needed! We have had some sun here (yay) and the bedding plants are looking beautiful. I love your Gazania – just love them, but mine are not flowering yet. Do you like Hellebores? Not sure how they do with you, but we’ve just brought a group of small plants and are hoping they’ll take. I just adore them with their downcast faces. I’ve really enjoyed catching up on your posts today Julie – a real treat. Happy gardening and much love to you from over the water. 🙂 xxxxx 🙂

    • So glad you’re enjoying some sunshine there Ruth! It really lifts the spirit and makes a difference when the sun is shining! It’s a lovely morning here with a high of 70 in the forecast for today. I slept in a bit this morning, as the cool temps during the night are so great for sleeping and I was feeling extra cozy in my bed, but now I’m itching to get outdoors. 😉
I’ve never heard of Hellebores, I’ll have to google them and see what they look like. Hope the ones you’ve brought up there take nicely for you!
It’s so good to hear from you Ruth, I’ve been thinking about you off and on and hoping you’re doing alright there. Sending much love and warmest wishes over to you across the big pond. ❤ Please take care and be well, my friend! 🙂 xxx 🙂

  7. I may never come back indoors either because if I do, the squirrels will get into some other delicious item or other. Sigh. (PS, have a great holiday weekend!)

    • Omygosh those naughty squirrels having been extra “diggy” haven’t they?! Every time I go inside and come back out they have dug up my cucumber seeds! I’m at a bit of a loss as to what to do to stop them, other than stand guard out there 24/7. Little stinkers!
Hope you have a great holiday weekend too, Lori! And good luck with those naughty squirrels. 😉
