Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette

When I saw in my reader that the Weekly Photo Challenge for this week was Silhouette, I thought of this photo that I snapped of my own shadowy silhouette a while back, and thought I’d share it…

I’m sure the idea of any weekly challenge is to look for opportunities for something this week that fits the theme, and not using something from the past, so I’m sorry if I’m sort of breaking the rules here.

But not really.  😉

In photography, as well as in life in general, I much prefer doing things while in the moment, experiencing them as they flow naturally, not purposely going to look for them.  I’m a huge fan of serendipity!  ❤

Have a wonderful day, hope it’s filled with pleasant surprises and fortunate happenstances!

Oh, and P.S. the original story behind the photo is here… Shadows and Light

  2. I like your way of doing it! That natural photo from your archives is surely better than something contrived. Your photo has a dreamy quality to it!

    • Thanks Trisha! I like doing things in a more natural way, feels more authentic somehow. I notice shadows a lot (in a good way, not a creepy way 😉 ) and would like to take more pictures of them. The other day while I was out on my bike, the sun was at just the angle and I could see my shadow riding along with me, I had all sorts of silly and philosophical thoughts going through my mind as I saw it there and thought of stopping to take a picture, but I didn’t. And speaking of “dreamy”… my bike is still such a dream to ride! 😀

      • I’m glad you’re still enjoying your bike. I thought I was alone in enjoying shadows! I like it when the sun is low in the sky and the shadows are long. I can rarely get a good shadow photo with my little camera though so I’ll just have to enjoy your shadow photos. 🙂

  3. I like this silhouette! It’s got movement to it! Well done!
I do fatmumslim’s photo challenges for Instagram, and on several occasions I’ve used an older photo. If that’s breaking the rules, I’m okay with it. Yesterday the topic was clouds. There were no clouds. All day, perfect blue skies ruled. Around 10pm, I realized I could have used a cloud of whipped cream, but by then we were eating the whipped cream, so sometimes I just skip it 😉
