This Post is Brought to You by the Color: Orange

Does it sound strange to say I’m craving orange?  Not as in citruses, but as in the color orange.  I’m sure it’s autumn being just around the corner that has something to do with it.  🙂

So if you don’t mind, I’d like to share some orange with you…

 

Having none growing in the garden, I went out and got myself a small pot of mums.  There were so many lovely colors to choose from, but I picked the orange shaded ones.  So warm, bright and cheerful!

 

And Look… my bell peppers have finally turned orange!

 

I also have a few small scraggly tomatoes that are still hanging in there trying to ripen on the vine.  Orange is probably all the further they’ll be able progress before it gets too cold.

 

And speaking of cold…with these cooler autumn temps, what is more cozy than a nice warm (orange) fire out on the patio?

And with no mosquitoes!  😀

 

Still waiting for the leaves to change in my area, but little hints of color are definitely starting to show.  Found this lovely while out on a bike ride the other day…

  It’s not orange, but it has orange in it.  😉  I absolutely adore Sugar Maple trees and their stunning combination of autumn colors!  ❤

And I love the changing of the seasons.  Every single one.   I’m so glad I live in an area where the seasons have such an obvious change as they go through their cycles.  I find myself sort of  craving the changing seasons and all that they entail as I sense their approach ~ even the colors… autumn gold, winter white, spring green, summer, well summer is really a kaleidoscope of colors isn’t it?!  I’m so thankful for eyes that see!

Do you ever crave certain colors?  Or is it just me?

I did a little reading about the color orange and here is a bit of what I  found…

“Orange combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. It is associated with joy, sunshine, and the tropics. Orange represents enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, encouragement, and stimulation.

To the human eye, orange is a very hot color, so it gives the sensation of heat. Nevertheless, orange is not as aggressive as red. Orange increases oxygen supply to the brain, produces an invigorating effect, and stimulates mental activity.  As a citrus color, orange is associated with healthy food and stimulates appetite. Orange is the color of fall and harvest.

The color psychology of orange is optimistic and uplifting, rejuvenating our spirit. In fact orange is so optimistic and uplifting that we should all find ways to use it in our everyday life, even if it is just an orange colored pen that we use.

Orange brings spontaneity and a positive outlook on life and is a great color to use during tough economic times, keeping us motivated and helping us to look on the bright side of life.

With its enthusiasm for life, the color orange relates to adventure and risk-taking, inspiring physical confidence, competition and independence. Those inspired by orange are always on the go!

In relation to the meaning of colors, orange is extroverted and uninhibited, often encouraging exhibitionism or, at the very least, showing-off!

The color orange relates to social communication, stimulating two way conversations. A warm and inviting color, it is both physically and mentally stimulating, so it gets people thinking and talking!”

 

Sounds about right to me!
