When Winter Comes

When winter comes to the garden

it brings with it a unique beauty all its own.

I went out to the garden yesterday and found my French lavender encased in ice.  Still lovely, though regretfully I can no longer smell its heavenly fragrance.

I wonder if being encased in ice will preserve its colors?

I will have to keep an eye out and wait to see.

Oh look… a lavender Popsicle…

Here are a few other photos I snapped while I was out there…

I thought these icicles looked beautiful hanging from my blue tomato cages…

And interesting on my mums…

And even though these look a bit sad, all drooped over with the snow, they still look pretty at the same time.  They do to me, anyway.  I guess it’s all a matter of perspective…

We didn’t get quite as much snow accumulation in my immediate area as some areas got during the winter storm that recently passed through, so there’s still a few glimpses of autumn out there too…

That’s one thing I like about November… it’s a mixture of two beautiful seasons.  🙂

Hope it’s a beautiful season wherever you are too, have a lovely weekend!
