As is customary, I went out during Mother’s Day weekend and bought a few annuals for my garden.  These bright beauties were one of them…

I adore any type of daisy, there is just something so delightful and sweet about them.  I can’t wait to plant these.  ❤

I also can’t wait to plant all of these…

But it’s probably going to be a little while yet before I can, because the weather here is still a bit too cold at night.  That’s why I have them all placed on this old rusty flower cart of mine – so I can wheel them in and out of the garage at night until it’s warm enough.

In the meantime there are other lovelies in and around the garden for me to enjoy. Everything is bursting to life!

I simply must share a few more photos I took of the lilacs recently…

Don’t they make you just want to inhale deeply?

And the lily of the valley are blooming now too…

Talk about sweet, just look at those adorable dainty little white bells.

Also my peas are coming up…

My lettuces and spinach are coming right along as well, but I don’t have a photo of them to share.  It won’t be long before I’ll be able to plant the rest of my veggies too.

Ah… another gardening season approaches.

And for that I’m feeling so thankful.  I think I’ll head out to the garden right now…

I hope you find things to feel thankful for today too!

And just because I’m so in love with this song right now…

  3. I love the daisies and your lilac pictures are so beautiful! I never did get any good lilac shots this year and now they’re gone. I am so envious of your green thumb! My attempts to grow seedlings never turn out well.

    • Thanks Trisha! I’ve been using my mom’s camera for taking photos of the lilacs this year, it has a better zoom than mine and I love the blur effect it gives. But the lilacs are especially beautiful here this year, so big and healthy, I’m loooving them! It’s a pity that their blooming time is so brief, I’ve been outside as much as possible sniffing them up as much as I can. 🙂
Don’t be too envious… I don’t know if it’s a green thumb as much as it’s just simple luck most of the time with how well my garden grows, and lately the naughty squirrels have been digging around so much in my garden that they’re uprooting most of my lettuce seedlings.

      • Naughty squirrels are a big part of my garden problem too!

I love the blur effect you got with your mom’s camera. I think it’s part of what makes all your lilac pictures so lovely. I wasn’t able to get that with any of my lilac photos. And they’re blooming season is way too brief. Oh well. As fast as time goes these days, we’ll be sniffing next year’s lilacs before we know it!

    • Thanks so much Derrick, and I’m so glad you liked the video! It’s not necessarily the genre of music I typically listen too, but I love the lyric and it’s such an upbeat, catchy tune, it makes me happy. 🙂

  6. OH, Julie!!! I laughed out loud when I saw your Annuals. You are as bad as me, and I have yet to go to the nursery to buy them. It has turned cool here too, so hang on. My Lilacs (French) still have yet to bloom but I see my neighbor’s Lilacs have flowered. I LOVED your post, and oh yes, Lily of the Valley, thank YOU for reminding me because that is something else I must plant in my garden. Their scent is intoxicating!! Thank you for giving me a taste of Spring. My flowers are coming!!! LOL And yes, I do have some. (smile) Of course. (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

    • Haha, and that cart full is only about half of the annuals I usually end up with, but I had a smaller budget to work with this year. It’s so lovely though just to be getting any plants – my gardeners heart has been aching for this for months. I’m sure you can relate. 😉 Oh yes, the scent of lily of the valley is sooo beautiful, I love it almost as much as the lilacs. You should definitely plant some! Happy gardening, Amy! ❤

  7. Those daises are wonderful and I like your cart method to wheel them in and out. It seems you have a green thumb, warm heart and along with being a force of nature! I wish I could smell those lovely lillacs! 🙂
