I’d have to say that sunflowers are actually more of a true symbol of a summer flower to me, but those aren’t blooming here just yet, so Black-eyed Susans are the next best thing.  And after all… they are in the sunflower family.  ☼

And this side of the family is breeding abundantly at the moment…

  1. Fantastic! I tried to have some in Georgia, but they cooked in the bud, so I haven’t had any since 2006! I’ve got a yellow house now…so I’m with the white daisy groupies now 😉

    • These aren’t in my garden, but they’re right across the street from it, so I’m able to enjoy them just the same. A yellow house with white daisies sounds absolutely dreamy Joey…

  3. Ah, lovely shots of my favorite flower! And also the symbol I planned on blogging about! You beat me to it and now I’m going to look like a total copycat. 🙂 (I can’t “like” your post because I haven’t figured out the weird, new reader thing.)

    • Thanks Trisha! Haha copycat! 😉
I haven’t had much of a chance yet to look at it, but so far I am disliking the new Reader.

      • I am finding it very confusing. Some people have a “visit ______ for more” button that takes you to their blog and others don’t. It didn’t show up on your post and nothing I clicked on would take me to your blog, just a generic reader page that doesn’t have a “like” button.

      • It’s annoying when they change things for no good reason. My thought is… ‘If it aint broke, don’t fix it.’ What was wrong with the way it was? Ugh…

      • I noticed that if you click on the title while in the generic reader page it brings you to the person’s blog…

      • And the ‘like’ button is in the upper right hand corner. It should be at the end of the post, in my opinion…

  7. I like symbols of love and family, too. Black Eyed Susan sure are cheerful. 🙂 When I go to an airport seeing loved ones hug “hello” or “goodbye” it moves me.

    • They really are a cheerful bloom! I don’t go to airports very often these days, but I know what you mean, I love seeing that and I find it very moving too. 🙂
