Weekly Photo Challenge: Connected

As earth’s outer layers have worn away over the course time

revealing how the roots of trees connect and intertwine beneath the surface

So are we

connected

underneath it all

  3. Great photo and reminder Julie. 🙂 I’ve read that tree roots communicate on a cellular level over wide areas! Cool stuff. Happy Labor Day!
I’m celebrating my mowing my yard. XD

    • Thanks Brad.
That’s so cool! I’m such a huge fan of trees! 🙂
Happy Labor Day to you too, but the whole idea of this holiday is to rest from laboring, so should you really be mowing today? 😉 I enjoy mowing, but it’s not what I would consider to be ‘rest.’ Oh well, who am I to talk… I’ve spent the weekend cleaning and organizing stuff around the house – it was too hot here to do anything outdoors.
Have fun mowing, and have a great week! 🙂

    • I’m so glad you liked it, thanks Trisha. I agree, trees are so awesome! I came across these while I was up at Gooseberry Falls State Park along Lake Superior’s North Shore during my birthday. 🙂

  11. As usual, it’s not just your photo that I like but the way you make me think about things just a little bit more. Thanks for sharing this Julie 🙂

    • Thanks Simon, I actually cropped this one to only show the roots, and unfortunately that reduced its quality a bit. I’m really going to need to get better acquainted with some good photo editing software one of these days…
I’m so happy this caused you to think just a little more about things, I’ve been thinking more about lots of things myself. 🙂
