capturing a glimpse into the miraculous

of she who was forming there in secret

hidden from our view

It’s a girl!

My baby girl is going to have a baby girl of her own.  An unexpected blessing, but a blessing all the same, and I can’t wait to meet her!

 

I was there, during the ultrasound, witnessing the precious miracle of life through modern technology – seeing the little being who is developing there inside my daughter, underneath the bump of her growing tummy.  And watching the tiny heart beating… it was a transcendental experience.  I’d never had an ultrasound while I was pregnant myself.

After checking to ensure that the baby had all of its main parts developing properly, the technician announced it was a girl, and a wave of love washed over me, along with a flood of joyful tears.  And what a delightful surprise – we all thought for sure it was a boy.  But oh gosh… I’m completely over the moon about having a granddaughter, like you have no idea!

    I spent six years working in high risk obstetrics. Days were filled with tears, and laughter, and amazing moments that fill whole rooms in your mind. There is nothing more inspiring than watching a baby come into this world.

      Wow what an experience that must have been, Charlie! Life is certainly filled with its share of joys and tears, struggles and triumphs, including those moments when we first enter into this world – birth itself is nothing short of miraculous! 🙂

      Although this wasn’t planned and the circumstances haven’t been easy, I’m very excited about becoming a grandma, it truly is a wonderful gift! And to be having a little granddaughter… delights me to no end! ❤

      Oh you know it! I’m already filled with so much love, I can hardly wait to meet her and love her all up. Although… there’s quite a bit to do yet to prepare for her arrival, so I’m not in THAT much of a rush! 😉

    That’s great! I’m delighted for you. The doctor took an ultrasound picture of our second son for us. It was a bit difficult to interpret and so I was relieved to find he did have a nose after all (quite a generous one, as it happens).

      Thanks Bun! Haha yes I bet that was a quite a relief to find he had a nose! 🙂 We had a very clear view during my daughter’s ultrasound and could make out all the little details, it was so amazing to see! And also wonderful that all those little details revealed that all appears well with our sweet Noelle. ❤

      It was quite unexpected, but it is such a wonderful blessing!
      I really love her name, and it’s nice to have a name for her, instead of just calling her “the baby” all the time.
