The invigorating scent of fresh pine
Peppermint flavored everything
Swirling snowflakes dancing on the wintry winds
and on my blog
Christmas music ringing out on the airways
The color red
Frosty windows
Animal tracks in the snow
Hot cocoa
A crackling fire on a cozy hearth
Warm winter clothes – mittens! 🙂
The extra sense of wonder and excitement in children
and in my pets
and in me
The increased spirit of giving and goodwill people have toward one another
Pretty packages containing special gifts for loved ones
Celebrating the greatest gift of all – the birth of Jesus ❤
Holiday lights sparkling everywhere
The warm glow of candlelight
Spending extra time with family and friends
Baking festive holiday treats
Clear crisp wintry night skies filled with bright stars
Frost on my windows
oh wait, I already mentioned that 😉

I’m experiencing a slight bit of overwhelm here in my little world at the moment, so I made this list to remind myself of everything I love about this time of year.
What do you love today?

Well, I loved that image for starters 🙂

Thanks so much, Richard! It looks a bit like a frosty Christmas tree don’t you think? It’s actually a photo I snapped last winter, I’m sad to say there hasn’t been a whole lot of frost on my windows so far this year, the temps here have been so mild, and nearly all our lovely snow has melted too. Hopefully we’ll get more snow for Christmas! 🙂

We’re bereft of snow and ice too. It doesn’t feel like Christmas without some snow 😦

I agree. Hopefully we’ll both get some 🙂

Nice! I’m glad you’re enjoying your mild weather there, Derrick. I’m the opposite – I’m not enjoying our 40 degree temps, it melted all of our lovely snow. Keeping my fingers crossed we get more by Christmas! 🙂

I love how the frost looks like a Christmas tree! I would so love to see frost, snow and a big plate of something peppermint flavored. I hope your feeling overwhelm subsides soon so you can fully enjoy the magic of the season.

That was fun to have it form like a Christmas tree! I would some snow as well, all of the snow we got earlier has melted. It rained all day today and I kept thinking ‘if it was just a little bit colder this would be snow.’ There’s a chance for some this weekend, so here’s hoping!
Thanks Trisha, I hope it subsides soon too. Focusing on all the things I love about this season and on the present moment helps. Hope to catch up on your blog posts soon too! 🙂

Jewels, I hope the ‘overwhelm’ is on the positive side of the scale.
Today, I love the fact that I had a good visit to the dentist and have shed the fear of having to go that I had this time last night.

Thanks Jean, it’s on all sides of the scale. I’ve just been so terribly busy, and it’s hard on me when I don’t get enough down time.
So glad to hear your visit to the dentist went well! 🙂

I know I’ve been quiet lately, my creative energy has been a bit sapped by the busyness of life and I just haven’t been feeling very inspired. There’s a lot going on here in my little world, but everything is okay, thanks so much Lois. Hope all is well with you and yours and your sweet kitties! ❤

It can be beautiful, it depends on one’s perspective – lots of the people in my area don’t like the snow, but I think it’s lovely, I enjoy all of our seasons, there’s something beautiful about each of them. Although the winters can be long. Our weather has been very mild lately and the snow we had earlier has melted, I’m really hoping we get more snow by Christmas, it really does add to the mood of the holidays! 🙂

I love that “The Afters” music has put a special bit of happiness in my heart The past few days. Especially since the holidays can be a bit emotionally tough. Learning to appreciate the beauty in the midst of chaos.
I know this bit of sudden happiness is God hearing get my prayers and healing my sorrows.
Best wishes for the holidays and new year!
