Frost feathers etched on my morning window

And cold it was… I awoke to a -30 windchill this morning!

Hope it’s warmer where you are. Wishing you a beautiful day!

Superb frost shot! It’s bitter cold here; i’ve been giving a lot of seed to the poor outdoor birds!

Thanks Tom! Aw it’s so good of you to make sure the little birdies are fed. I heard some chirping outside my window this morning and thought the same… poor things.

Oh, God, how do you go outside in that weather? I’d stay tucked up in bed, looking at the beautiful frost feathers. 🙂 Love your poem – what a wonderful thing to envision.

Well I don’t if at all possible. 😉 This was definitely the kind of day for enjoying the beauty of winter from indoors.
Thanks so much, Eliza! ♡

WOW…the photograph and the temperature…..
your words make me think Angels were there and as we make snow angels ,they left prints while leaning in to check on you …
beautiful photograph…
it is warmer in Texas 🙂 though I would love snow once in awhile…(or really I would want four seasons…)

Thanks! 🙂 Yeah these temps are pretty extreme, but they’re not without their perks – the frost on my windows only happens when it gets really cold and I sure do enjoy its beauty. Yes, I bet it’s much warmer down there in Texas. 😉 I know what you mean… I would really miss having four distinct seasons.
Thanks so much for stopping by LadyBlueRose!

The frost is beautiful but I can’t imagine -30 wind chills. My poor old furnace couldn’t keep up with cold like that. Stay warm!

Oh, I must have missed this comment the other day. Yeah -30 is pretty extreme, but I sure do love the frost formations it puts on my windows. The temps have since warmed up a bit and I’m missing seeing the sun come up through the frost. We did get a lovely light dusting of snow yesterday though so that was pretty. 🙂

I am appreciating your posts. Your images of frost reminded me of a different kind of “frost” in this rather telling poem: https://rhfoerger.wordpress.com/2015/10/23/fights-and-frost-bites/
