I bask in the beauty of bright blue skies
feeling the warm caress of the sun on my skin
The scent of fresh earth fills my nostrils
grounding me
The sweet melody of the robin fills the air
as green buds too, burst forth in song
Springtime’s serenade reverberates within me
breathing new life into my senses

I wrote this yesterday while I was outside enjoying the lovely weather we had. Seriously, the warm sun on my skin felt so amazing, and the blue of the sky was glorious! It was so delightful to hear the birds singing and to smell the scent of dirt again. What… you don’t like the smell of dirt? 😉
Then I noticed these buds sprouting on my lilacs and seeing that fresh, new spring green made me feel like new too.
What a gift the changing of the seasons is. It really is the simple things that bring me joy.

We took her out for a walk in her stroller and she seemed a bit distressed at first – sensory overload maybe? But then she closed her eyes and went to sleep and had a really deep, sound, long nap. There’s nothing like nature’s soothing lullaby! 🙂

I love the smell of dirt, and the feeling of sun on my skin (when it’s not too hot.) This past week has been mostly rain for us, but I won’t complain, spring knows just what to do 🙂

It’s gotta be the gardener in me, but after the long winter, the dirt just smells so good to me! Yes I’m with you on that… notice I said warm sun, not hot. 😉
