Ghosts of the past speak

as the sun sets

on aged boards

weathered by the test of time

I came across this old weathered barn while I was in Southern Illinois this past summer for the eclipse.  Whenever I see old buildings like this, I always wonder about their story and listen for any whispers from ghosts past…

    This shot captures something of us as we weather with age. When I see an older person I sometimes wonder what they have had to experience in their lifetime. I had a dear old friend years ago who had to actually pull a plough (plow) to prepare fields for planting, before walking miles to go to school, but it does not always show in their appearance.

      Gosh, I hope I’m weathering better than this old barn! 😉 I wonder the same thing too sometimes when I see an older person – or any person, we never know the hardships that people may be going through, you can’t always tell on the outside, weathered looking or not…
