I don’t feel like I’m done with autumn yet, but I always want it to last longer than it does, so that’s typical. 😉
We had our first real snowfall overnight Thursday night, and I hadn’t realized any was coming, so it was a bit of a surprise to wake up to. I haven’t even raked up the leaves in my yard yet. Oops! But hey, I’ve been otherwise occupied – my new little Grandson is one week old today. 💙
We didn’t get a whole lot of snow, but I spent about an hour and a half shoveling yesterday morning. It was hard on my back, but I was feeling so grateful for my new knees! The cold air was invigorating and the snow made me feel all sorts of festive for the holidays coming up.
Anyways, I was delighted to find some pretty frost on my window as I watched the sun come up this morning, and I look forward to seeing more of it. I know, I know… most people dread winter, but there truly is so much beauty to be found if we look for it. And it’s just so dang cozy!

Oh it got chilly down there in sunny Florida! Of course, 40’s during the winter would feel downright balmy here. 😉 I think it was around 11 degrees when I got up this morning. Thanks Lois, I’m so glad you like them – there’s sure to be more of them in the coming months, as winter is sooo long… Stay warm! ❤

It is! I love the changing of the seasons and I enjoy living where each of them is so distinct. Winter can get mighty long though, can’t it? But lets not think about that just yet. 😉 Hope you’re having a good weekend, Eliza! ❤

Congratulations on your new grandson, Julie! My Heart is all a-flutter at the thought! Your picture of Mr. Frost is beautiful. Yes snow here too and I am hoping that this is just a phase so we can resume FALL. Our trees remained fully leaved for SO long, then BAM color happened too fast followed my winds and rains that brought the leaves down. I’d like just ONE more outing to dedicate to FALL. 🍁🍁🍁

Ohhhhh I am determined to get ONE more outing for Fall in my schedule. I refuse to bow down to Mr. Winter yet. NO! It is just too early, darn it. We’ve yet to have Indian Summer!

Winter’s cozy beauty? Right. At my age, only if I’m looking through a frosted pane, though I do remember a time when–mufflered, gloved-up and heavily shod–I could see beauty almost everywhere when it snowed, and in the bones of trees or outlines of the hills when it didnt.
New grandchild, new knees, new snow– so much joy in small things. Im reminded to be grateful too for mine.

Hahaha I get it! It’s the indoors that are cozy at winter time – a fire in the hearth, warm drinks, candles burning, flannel and fleece, cuddling, baking… I might just bake some cookies after I finish responding to all my comments here. 😉 But I also enjoy being outdoors in the winter – I think it’s in my Scandinavian genes on my Dad’s side. Everything is quieter, there’s a hush when it snows…

Yes, I have a new little Grandson, he was born 2 weeks ago yesterday! 💙
Most of our snow has now melted here, but it’s still pretty nippy – athough, not quite cold enough for another visit frim Jack. 😉 Stay warm there, my friend! ❤
