Beauty Still Shines

Frosty plumes dance on glass in a silent wintry ballet

Shades of silver and gray fall softly on my eyes

as I awake to a colorless morning without a sunrise

Granted, it wasn’t quite this colorless this morning.   😉

Here’s the original…

I always like things better in color, but making it B&W seemed to go better with the poem.  I don’t know, what do you think?

But omygosh you guys, I’m so grateful for some winter beauty – winter has not been too kind to me here lately, and I’m so weary…

Between shoveling seemingly non-stop for weeks and ice dams and leaking roofs, I’m about done with winter.

But even in the midst of difficulties, there’s still so much to be grateful for.  And beauty still shines…

Wishing you beauty and light and things to be grateful for on this Monday!

  2. Beautiful photos, poem, and attitude Julie! The B&W image matches the poem wonderfully. I’m sorry that winter has been so hard in MN. Spring will come eventually. 🙂

  4. Both are so very pretty, Julie. They look like silver and copper.

  5. Leaking anything is reason enough to lose your good winter mojo. I do think the black and white suits your words, and prefer the color version myself. So beautiful!

    • Dealing with the leaking has been very stressful, Joey. 😕 Thankfully, some help came along just when we needed it. But there will still be repairs needing to be taken care of come spring, which won’t be fun. I prefer the color one too, thanks Joey! ❤

  7. Your windows get the most amazing frosts, like fractals. Just beautiful, Julie. I like both photos but agree the B&W worked for your words. Be well, dear friend. Enjoy the beauty. ❤️

  8. To fit the poem no colour was right – but the colour one is more pleasing
