Even my heart

Mandala Monday ~ Easter

Hi guys!  Here’s a bright little nature mandala I created for Easter using colored eggs along with some of the left over flowers I still had from the Spring Equinox that I saved in the refrigerator…

Just simple, but I really enjoyed making it.

I let it sit and exist for a little while and then I took it apart and made another one…

It turned out a bit crooked because the ground was uneven and it was hard to keep the eggs in place with them tending to be all roly-poly. 🙃

My Daughter was here with my Grandchildren and she and my Granddaughter made one together…

My girls 💕

Then my Granddaughter decided she wanted to make one of her own…

I personally like hers the best – it looks like a messy little nest. 🐣  She was singing Old Macdonald Had a Farm while she was making it.  Oh how I adore this child! 😍

It was wonderful having my own nest filled once again with my Daughter and Grandchildren staying here for a few days this past week.  Such a blessing.  I’m so grateful…

How precious and beautiful are these two?!  I love them so very much! 💕

~

Thanks for letting me share!  😊

Hey, Happy Earth Day you guys!  I hope you find some fun and meaningful ways to celebrate our lovely earth today!  We’re so lucky and blessed to get to live in such a beautiful and truly amazing place!  🌎

Music Monday ~ Garden Party

I know I just said this in my last post (apparently I like to repeat myself), but everything is a song.  Or, everything reminds me of a song.  And as I was preparing to share these following photos another old song came to mind.  But more on that later…

Another flower show I recently attended was called Garden Party: An Uncommon Floral Experience and was located inside a local shopping mall.  Because of the mall setting, the vibe was quite different than the flower show at the conservatory that I shared about the other day, but the displays and the flowers were absolutely gorgeous!

This display was ooo aah.  You can’t really tell how lovely it was from this picture, but there were two magnificent flower arrangements in tall vases on the table…

Another view

This one was my favorite setting, but again, the photo doesn’t truly capture…

The name of the mall is called the Galleria, which I imagine is the story behind the letter G in this next one.  And here’s me repeating myself yet again… but this photo can’t truly capture this display, it was HUGE and incredibly beautiful.  The G was created with various succulents and the combination of textures and colors was so cool.  I loved the orchids cascading down the one side and the roses on top…

Everything was teapots, cups and saucers themed…

But the flowers, of course, were actually the main theme for me…

I got excited when I found some lavender (my fave) mixed in.  Mmm…

I even picked up some of my seeds for my veggie garden while I was there…

I can’t wait to get planting! 🌱

I have more to share, but I think you’ve scrolled long enough. 😉 It was a lovely little garden party to attend, thanks for joining me!  Can you imagine this an as outdoor experience?  Dreamy! 😍

I can’t wait to spend time in my humble little gardening space!  But Spring sure is taking it’s sweet ol’ time getting here to Minnesota… we have 12- 18 inches of snow in the forecast for Wednesday through Friday this week.  Ugh.  Oh well, what can you do?  Can’t control nature. 🙃

And finally, here’s the song…

What can I say, I’m a child of the 70’s…

Happy Monday!  Wishing you a beautiful week! 😊

Morning Has Broken

I awake to the sound of rain gently pattering on the rooftop above me

birdsong drifts in through my open window

My eyes open to a dreary light

no sunrise with the rain

Outside is drab and colorless, oh how I long for the return of green

As I stare out the window, a chaotic mess of tangled, twisted tree branches greets me

they seem to mirror my busy, scattered thoughts on this a.m

But I focus on the bird sounds

breathe in the fresh air wafting in through the window

I feel grateful the temperature is mild enough to even have the window open

grateful for ears to hear the bird’s sweet voices

grateful for the breath in my lungs

Traffic sounds increase, people who’ve awoken before me and are already in their cars hurrying off to their various places

I wonder if they heard the birds singing upon arising, or instead awoke to the blaring sound of an alarm clock

I feel grateful once again

grateful that I can awake gently, according to my own body clock

Church bells ring in the distance

One noisy sparrow looks in at me through the window and begins squawking at me, as if saying “Get up, get up, early bird catches the worm!”

I have no worms that need catching, but I could use some coffee

and there’s a hungry cat meowing outside my door

So I arise

Morning has broken

I have no photo to share with this, but a song comes to mind…

Everything is a song…

Be blessed and have a lovely day!

Spring Flower Show

Vibrant colors

red, orange and yellow

a refreshing feast for the eyes

for the winter-wearied heart

I recently attended the 2019 Spring Flower Show at the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory that is located near my house.  I try to make it to Como as often as I can, it’s a wonderful place, and the conservatory is especially refreshing to visit during the long winter months here.  Those of you who have been with me for a while may recall numerous posts about this place over the years.  Sorry, not sorry, for the repetitiveness, but I LOVE it there!

This year’s Spring Flower Show was dominated by tulips and was all about the reds and yellows.  I don’t always fancy those two colors in combination, but it was working for me this time.  It was so beautiful and such delight to see those bright, vibrant colors when things are so drab and dreary outdoors here right now.  Although there’s still beauty that can be found even in those muted tones, I’m really ready for some color.  Not to mention, the smell in there was absolutely amazing!  Too bad there isn’t a scratch and sniff App…

Feast yours eyes…

😍

There was also a touch of white mingled in with the addition of gardenia…

They also have a Fern Room at Como…

As well as an Orchid Room…

And even a Koi pond…

And this is all only a fraction of the beauty there.  As I said…  it’s a wonderful place!  I’m so grateful to have it so nearby!

Thanks so much for letting me share it with you.  Wishing all of you a beautiful, brilliant day!
