Cold winds swirl
autumn leaves twirl
two seasons merge into one
when snow joins in
adding a frosty dusting
of winter magic

But only for the weekend. Thankfully! 😉
We had a bit of snow here in Minnesota. Everyone is groaning “noooooo!” Except me. Don’t get me wrong… I was too at first, when I heard the forecast – if you’ve been with me very long, you know that autumn is my most bestest favoritest time of year, the last thing I want is for it to end prematurely. Heck, it feels like it’s barely even gotten started and there’s so much more enjoying I want to have. But, rather than dread or resist or groan about the cold and the snow – which we have zero control over, wouldn’t it serve us better to try to find the beauty in it instead? It’s there, it just might require a little shift in perspective to see it…
Wishing you warmth and beauty today and a perspective that brings you joy!

Oh my, don’t know that I could handle that crunchy stuff just yet

I think you could, I believe in you, Annette! 😉 It’s not gonna stay anyway just yet – it’s gonna be back in the upper 50’s and 60 next weekend! 😀

I’m glad that you’ve had a little dusting of snow to add to the merging of the seasons, but hope that your autumn lasts a while longer 🙂

Beautiful photo, poem, and perspective Julie. And I’ve been bemoaning our brief fall too! Not that we had snow, but we went from 80s to 50s. It’s the 60s and 70s that I love. Thanks for the reminder to enjoy what is.

The seasons do seem to be getting all mixed up – but as long as you can still enjoy the beauty. 😀

Yes, sometimes the do. We’ve always had varying weather here where I live and often joke about how one can experience all four seasons within the span of one day! 🙂

I don’t know how people who live where you or I live can possibly freak out every time it snows, even in October. I pfft to them. I understand them a lot better when they freak out over snow in May. I mean, you know, we’re all sick of scraping by March 😉
Anyway, your words are lovely 🙂

Wonderful poem, but it did give me chills up my spine as my mind/body still believes summer is still here 🙂

Thanks, Randall. It’s getting chillier and chillier as the days pass. But I really do love it all – even the snow! 🙂
