Spring Rains

Nourishing droplets dance on my skin

Exhilarating and refreshing

are the spring rains

I got caught in the rain yesterday, and as I hurried to get indoors to escape it, I suddenly paused and realized how wonderful those raindrops felt on my skin –  cold, but exhilarating, and oh so refreshing.  Ah…  let the rain fall, washing away all worry and strife…

So what if I arrive at my destination soaking wet – at least I’m clean.  😉

In Spring

Sweet tender buds

the promise of beauty to come

bring joy, hope

renewal

to the winter-wearied soul

in spring

Earth Day 2017

On Earth Day

Mother Earth prays

hoping we’ll hear her plea

For it is through us alone

we can protect our home

for future generations to see

I’ve recently been enjoying the beautiful artwork of Josephine Wall, and when I came across this piece of hers, I immediately thought of Mother Earth and Earth Day.  It’s entitled “Sadness of Gaia” and if you click on the picture, it will bring you to the artist’s webpage and her interpretation/explanation of this piece.  To me it seems as if Mother Earth is praying.  Let’s listen…

Frozen Falls

The melody of rushing waters

never ceasing

Nature’s flow persists

through winter’s frozen falls

A good friend and I took a little road trip this past weekend in hopes of finding these falls completely frozen over, because how cool would that be?  But to our surprise, and delight, they were not.  We enjoyed them much more being only partially frozen.  Listening to the beautiful and refreshing melody of rushing waters was an extra lovely sound to hear to in the middle of winter when nature usually sleeps.

Wishing all of you a melodious and refreshing week!
