red, orange and yellow
a refreshing feast for the eyes
for the winter-wearied heart

I recently attended the 2019 Spring Flower Show at the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory that is located near my house. I try to make it to Como as often as I can, it’s a wonderful place, and the conservatory is especially refreshing to visit during the long winter months here. Those of you who have been with me for a while may recall numerous posts about this place over the years. Sorry, not sorry, for the repetitiveness, but I LOVE it there!
This year’s Spring Flower Show was dominated by tulips and was all about the reds and yellows. I don’t always fancy those two colors in combination, but it was working for me this time. It was so beautiful and such delight to see those bright, vibrant colors when things are so drab and dreary outdoors here right now. Although there’s still beauty that can be found even in those muted tones, I’m really ready for some color. Not to mention, the smell in there was absolutely amazing! Too bad there isn’t a scratch and sniff App…
Feast yours eyes…
There was also a touch of white mingled in with the addition of gardenia…
They also have a Fern Room at Como…
As well as an Orchid Room…
And even a Koi pond…
And this is all only a fraction of the beauty there. As I said… it’s a wonderful place! I’m so grateful to have it so nearby!
Thanks so much for letting me share it with you. Wishing all of you a beautiful, brilliant day!

I snapped this in the Fern Room on a recent ‘green therapy’ visit to The Marjorie McNeely Conservatory at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. I can’t even tell you how wonderfully refreshing it was to be amidst the green and growing things…
Wishing you all a wonderful week. May it be filled with beauty and grace, and as always…

Boy I tell ya, winter just won’t let up. It’s April already for crying out loud, hardly the time of year for the winter storm warning that’s in our forecast! There is 8 – 12 inches of snow expected the last I heard…
A friend posted this on Facebook and I thought it was hilarious, if not a bit overly violent. But seriously, we are really, really, really feeling done with winter here.
Poor little snowman. 😉
On the bright side… at least it will melt rather quickly, right? I hope so anyway.
Also on the bright side, there is a lovely Spring Flower Show going on right now at the Como Park Conservatory. I know I’ve mentioned it before, but the conservatory really is wonderful, and I’m so thankful to have a place like that to go to that is so nearby.
Here are a few of the photos I took while I was there. For some reason a lot of them turned out looking a bit overexposed, but they’re still pretty. And such a bright, colorful sight to see amidst this relentless winter weather…
Ah sooo lovely, and it smelled amazing!
If you’re in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, I highly recommend that you pay a visit to the 2013 Spring Flower Show at the Como Park Conservatory going on through April 28th, it’s the perfect antidote to get you through until spring finally arrives.
And will also help save the lives of countless innocent snowmen. 😉
Hang in there my fellow Minnesotans, it may not look like it outside right now, but as surely as the sun rises and sets ~ spring is coming…
