Sunday Morning Senses

A distant motor hums

birds singing

trees swish in the breeze

 

Flowers blooming

an ant crawls

wispy clouds float across a blue sky

 

Fresh cut grass

an indistinct scent of flowers

damp wood mulch

 

Stiff, smooth pen between my fingers

the coolness of metal against the back of my bare arms

a faint breeze

 

Rich, flavorful herbal coffee

cocoa lip balm

a hint of floral somehow mingled in

Just a few observations as I checked in with my five senses this morning; grounding me in the present moment.

 

I don’t have a photo to share from my observations this morning, but here’s a random picture I snapped earlier this week as I enjoyed some peaceful moments by a stream…

Mandala Monday ~ the Heart

Within the heart lies deep mysteries

 

It is a multi-faceted gem of exquisite beauty

resting on a bed of delicate flowers grown in an ancient garden tended with care

its borders surrounded by a heavenly fragrance  Oh ‘precious scent’!

Another experiment using pressed flowers, and incorporating one of my favorite crystals as the center of this heart-shaped mandala.  I can’t even tell you how much I enjoyed creating this one!  💜

Lots of This…

Wishing you all lots of this today…

Well… not just today, but every day! 💕

I found my little stash of pressed flowers that I had packed away in an old box and thought I’d play around a bit arranging some flowery flat lays.  Some of these flowers are from gardens I had way back in the early 90’s!

I’d like to experiment doing more of this type of thing and maybe even try creating some mandalas using these old pressed flowers.  It’s snowing yet again today (huge, pretty flakes!), so finding creative indoor activities is always good. 😉

September Glory

I awoke on this September 1st to find my morning glories have finally bloomed…

I love thier big, bright blue blossoms!  😍

 I also awoke this morning to some brisk temperatures here in my little part of the world.  Not that I’m complaining, this is my favorite time of the year!  As many of you may already know, I absolutely adore everything there is about Autumn!  🍁

I’ll admit, it’s a little bit of a sad time in the garden, as everything is winding down.  Many of my plants are looking quite scraggly and my veggie garden gave up the ghost a bit early this year, as I’ve already yanked out my cucumber vines and my zucchini.  But I’ve still got some little jalapeno peppers going and a few tomatoes yet to turn red.

But as the Earth keeps spinning and the seasons come and go, everything in nature is always in some phase of transition and continual transformation, and I do my best to embrace each one.  All of life is a series of bittersweet hellos and goodbyes…

So hello to September, and a happy September 1st to all of you!  May this new month bring new and beautiful things to your life…

Come Away

 

Come away with me my love, on this warm spring eve

let us go out into the garden.

And laughing, let us lie down together on the soft grass

intoxicated by the lush scents of a thousand spring flowers in full bloom.

And intoxicated with each other

let us make love beneath the flowery boughs of the apple blossom

illuminated by the soft glow of May’s Full Flower Moon
