In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.

I couldn’t agree more! And right now a bit of that marvelous is showing up in the glorious magnolias that are in bloom here! Ah… so much absolute loveliness! I got totally caught up in the splendor of their soft, delicate beauty while I was outside enjoying the perfect spring weather we had here yesterday.
Here are a few photos I snapped while I was at it…

Rejoicing, I’m so thankful for eyes to see such beauty. And for a heart that feels it too!
Wishing the same for you…

Thanks, Dorinda! I was surprised to see these blooming already – the trees are barely even budding. It’s so refreshing to see things coming back to life! I hope some blooms come your way soon! 🙂

You have different magnolias than we have here in FL. The neighbors across the street have a huge tree that has not bloomed yet–I keep waiting! I think your flowers are prettier, though. Happy Saturday, Julie!

I’ve always thought of magnolias as being a southern plant, so I was quite pleased last year when I noticed them growing here. What do the ones in Florida look like? We have a white variety here too, but I really love these pink ones! ❤
Thanks Lois, happy Saturday to you too! 🙂

The ones that we have here, that I, in fact, just saw a few of this morning are plain white blossoms but they are huge, Julie. Like the size of dinner plates–really big and oh, so fragrant.

A dinner plate?! Wow! I bet the potency of that fragrance is unbelievable!

Thank you! I didn’t notice much of a fragrance coming from these, but we have a lovely white variety here that smells amazing! 🙂

Magnificent magnolia photos and memories. Thanks Julie. 🙂 I had a tulip magnolia in my yard at my previous house. They were one of the early and welcome signs of spring. I’m glad you’re enjoying the arrival of spring!

Thanks, Brad, I really enjoyed snapping these photos while I was out there admiring their beauty up close in person, hopefully some of that joy translated through them. 🙂 What is a tulip magnolia? My sister had what she called tulip trees while she was living in Seattle and I believe the were a type of magnolia, is that what you had? Those are lovely, it must have been wonderful!
Thank you, I really am enjoying the arrival of spring, it’s so refreshing to have the world coming back to life! It makes me feel as though I am too! Hope you’re having a nice weekend there so far, my friend! 😀

Yes, your joy translated! 🙂 It’s probably the same tree, called tulip magnolia or tulip tree. The common magnolia is a southern climate tree that keeps its leaves year round.

Thank you, Lucy, I’m glad you liked them! How wonderful, I wish I had one in my garden, but I’m not sure where I’d put it. Good thing there are lots of them around in my neighborhood for me to enjoy. 🙂

My pleasure. Indeed, they do take quite a lot of space, but it’s great to have them around. I love the flowers 🙂 You are lucky to have them in the neighborhood!

Beautiful, beautiful photos! I don’t think I’ve seen a pink magnolia. We’ve got white magnolia and pink tulip trees but not pink magnolia, at least not that I’ve noticed. And I think I would notice – they’re so lovely! I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!

Thanks! This pink variety is so beautiful, but not as fragrant as the white ones. Oh those pink tulip trees you have there are so pretty, I’ve seen them when visiting my sister in Seattle. My weekend has been nice so far – I’ve been PLANTING! 😀 Only spinach and lettuces so far, but still… it’s freaking great! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend too!

How wonderful that you got out to do some planting! All I managed to do was fry all of my seedlings.

It really was wonderful to be able to play around in the dirt again! Sorry to hear about your seedlings, will they recover?

A few look like they will recover, a sunflower and several valerian plants but, between the squirrels digging everything up and the dog stomping through the flower beds, I don’t have much hope for their survival.

It seems like very hour there is an opening of white star magnolias and these glorious pink ones! With a backdrop of yellow forsythia it creates such a lovely Spring palette!
I too am so excited Julie 🙂

Ah yes, I noticed the forsythia is in bloom here too, and we must not forget to add the fresh new greens popping out everywhere to Spring’s lovely palette! It’s so very wonderful to see all the fresh new life isn’t it? It breathes fresh life into me too! 🙂
