Winter Dawn

I awake before the sun

just as the first hints of light kiss the horizon

deep sapphire skies glisten 

a mystical backdrop against winter’s barren branches

 

All is quiet

except for the music within my own soul

playing the melody of transformation from darkness to light

as I witness the dawning of a new winter day

 

through frost covered windows

      Thanks so much. I love seeing it too, and enjoy awaking to its lovely, intricate designs etched on my windows on winter mornings – even though it means that it’s freezing outside. 😉

    This is a beautiful poem, reflecting the feeling of the beginning of the day ~ always the best feeling of the day for me. Wonderful photographs as well Julie, capturing those perfect moments. Wishing you a great 2017.

      Thanks Derrick, I hope it lasts… my creative inspiration has been lacking lately due to all of my focus and energy going elsewhere, but I hope to be posting more regularly again in this new year. I’ve missed being here! 🙂
