It’s a windy morning, the trees are trying to get my attention
Waving their arms
come here
listen
Rustling their leaves
I hear them whispering
ssp ssp ssp ssp ssp…
What secrets do you have to tell?
Oh, I see…
it’s the wind that wishes to speak to me.
Yes wind, what is it? I’m listening…
Ah, yes, please, of course
play with my hair
caress my skin
fill my lungs with breath
and my soul with life
I will dance and sway with the trees to your soundless symphony
And later I’ll go fly a kite
and my heart will fly too
on the wings of your refreshing embrace

The wind always makes me feel so alive…
And I really am going to fly kites later. 🙂

Love this, Julie. Brings back childhood memories of swinging in the breeze and of course, kite flying with my Dad. Wonderful days!!

Thanks Dorinda, I’m so glad you liked it and that it brought back fond memories for you. I don’t really remember flying kites as a child, but I’ve done it plenty as an adult and always have a wonderful time – today included! 🙂

Love your energy and lightness in the wind! When we can’t capture it in a bottle, we can capture it with words 😊

Thanks Val! x I had fun capturing a bit of that wind in the sails of my kite today too – it was a perfect day for flying! 🙂

Wonderful description of wind – one of my favorite sounds is the voice of the wind in the leaves. Even the lightest wind causes a tat-tat-tat in the maples. Divine!
Remember that song from Mary Poppins: “Let’s go FLY a kite, up to the HIGHEST height!” oh, dear, now I’ll be humming it all day! 😉

Thank you Eliza, it one of my favorite sounds too, and I love to watch the tree branches sway in the wind, it’s so calming, and always evokes a deep sense of connection in me.
I don’t remember that song, I’ll have to look it up. Hope the humming was a happy humming! 🙂

What a fun song! Thanks for sharing it, it made me smile! I know I have to have heard before it as I’m sure I’ve seen Mary Poppins, but it wasn’t familiar to me at all. I haven’t seen Saving Mr Banks yet…

I’m so glad you liked it, Trisha! Seriously, I always feel like they are too! I had an interesting experience with the trees in that regard not too long ago, but it was such a weird thing that I’ve been reluctant to share about it for fear of sounding totally bonkers. Well, I told my family about it, but they already know how bonkers I am. 😉
Thanks, I fully enjoyed this windy day and had a wonderful time flying kites!

I like that kind too, but no storms today – it was a perfect, beautiful windy summer day 🙂

We (meaning, our cornstalks) could use some wind over this way! It’s been so hot, sticky & stagnant, I’ve taken to shaking the plants to make sure the corn gets pollinated. (Have no idea whether this is truly effective. 😉 ) Please send some of those breezes eastward!!! 🙂

I didn’t do much kite flying growing up, but I did take my daughter out to fly them while she was growing up, and we have some lovely memories. She, my sister, and my mom came with me to fly kites after I wrote this, and we all had a wonderful time together. 🙂

Loved this post. My daughter and I share an intuition about so many things. Sometimes her wisdom catches me off guard. I loved that you took time to just enjoy yourself and that you had such a great group of willing participants!
