It’s an absolutely gorgeous autumn morning here in Minnesota! The air is cool and crisp, and I’ve got pumpkin spice scented candles burning while I sit here drinking my coffee, it’s so cozy! ❤
I haven’t noticed much in the way of leaves changing colors in my area yet, but I have been noticing other fall colored beauties here and there to enjoy while I wait. 😀
I came across these lovelies just yesterday at a local park. I have no idea what type of flower they are, but I’d say they’re pretty near a perfect example of autumn colors. I adore their yellow edges!
And the Goldenrod is profusely abundant right now with its tiny bright yellow stars bursting open…
There are ripening red berries everywhere for all the little creatures to feast on…
And my eyes are feasting on the orange shades of these beauties of my sister’s that I’ve been plant-sitting this past week…
Not to mention also feasting on the chubby orange carrots I pulled from my veggie garden last week too…
😀
Speaking of the veggie garden… it’s winding down significantly. I yanked up all my cucumber vines last week so it’s looking pretty bare out there. But I’ve still got my bell peppers growing quite nicely, just waiting now for them to turn yellow…
And I’ve got tons of tasty jalapenos to pick…
I’ve let all of my herbs go to flower now, and the bees are really enjoying my basil…
~
Even though it’s a bit sad to see the vegetable garden coming to an end, it’s been a wonderful growing season and I’m so grateful for all of its goodness.
Autumn is my most favorite season of all, and I am filled with joyful expectation as I await its arrival…
May you be filled with joy today as well!

Lovely photo tour of your heart and garden. Thanks for sharing Julie! 🙂
We are seeing a few hints of fall too.

Thanks Brad! 🙂 You’re seeing hints of fall already down there? Wow! I always think of Arkansas as being so much warmer than here. I bet fall is lovely there…

We are warmer and later with fall, Hints are here already, not color change yet. 🙂 The most dramatic and colorful falls were back east, especially in the mountains like the Shenandoah and Smokies. I want to go back to photograph the colors one year. 🙂

I’ve never traveled very far to the east, I bet it’s lovely in the mountains in the fall! I’ve always thought it would be wonderful to go to Vermont when the leaves are changing…

Me too on VT or the NE. I have seen fall in the mid atlantic, but not the NE. 🙂

I’ve got them burning again this morning, except they’re vanilla scent this time. 🙂 I love the honey bees too, a neighbor recently started beekeeping so I’ve been seeing lots of them visiting my garden this year. Thank you so much Kim, what a nice thing to say! ❤

So lovely! Those little carrots…too darn cute to eat! Is that first flower a Gazania Daisy? Great photo, Julie. Hot as blazes still in sunny Florida.

Thanks Loisajay! They really are cute carrots, not the variety I thought I planted though, so it was a surprise to see them. I thought it looked similar to Gazania too, love those. Still hot as blazes down there huh, do you even have autumn down there? 😉

pretty much we go from summer to winter and vice versa. We might get a week with cool temps in the morning but by afternoon it is hot again. That’s my excuse for not getting in my yard as much as I’d like” “It’s too hot (or cold)?” 🙂

And by “winter” I’m assuming you mean rain? 😉

Lovely images – the first flower (Gaillardia or Blanket Flower) reminds me of candy corn, another autumn treat, although I don’t go after them the way I used to (the ingredients are off-putting)! Fall is definitely in the air!

Thanks Eliza, oh gosh it is kinda like candy corn! 😀 I know what you mean about those ingredients, but I like them too, especially mixed with nuts ~ they taste just like a salted nut roll! Someone should invent a healthier version of candy corn… 😉

I agree, one without HFC, deadly stuff – it clogs the liver and it is in just about everything. The high rates of obesity and type-2 diabetes are directly linked to it.
Maple syrup candy corn maybe? We should write to Brach’s!

I didn’t plant any blanket flowers this year and I’m kicking myself for it now. I love their fall colors! And those chubby carrots are the most darling carrots I’ve ever seen. Enjoy your crisp weather and your pumpkin spice candles!

I may have look into planting some myself to enjoy during fall, it’s just that I don’t have much space. Yeah, those carrots were a bit of a surprise to see, I didn’t plant “chubby” ones. No matter, they were still tasty! 😀 It’s another lovely morning here again today, I’m loving this cooler air, it’s really rocking my socks off! Or rocking them “on.” 😉 I’ve had to dig out my fuzzy socks. So cozy! Thanks Trisha, hope the weather is treating you well there! 🙂

Those oranges and yellow are always stunning colours together. Sad about the veggies but you can now start planning for next year Julie!! Will that patch of ground that had the weedkiller on be any good next year? 🙂

I agree, those shades of oranges and yellows are so lovely together, I can’t wait until they’re on the leaves too! 😀
That area of the yard is to remain a lawn for now, per my mom’s wishes, but hopefully she’ll change her mind eventually and let me expand my tiny veggie garden over there. Although it’s been three years since it was treated with any chemicals, I’d probably have to do quite a bit to it before I’d feel comfortable growing food there, but it would be nice to have more space for flowers too ~ some rose bushes perhaps. 🙂
